Former partner of Prince Harry, Catherine Ommanney, 53, was apprehended on suspicion of fraud in Majorca for reportedly leaving a hotel without clearing a bill of nearly £450. The incident occurred at the Playas del Rey Hotel in Santa Ponsa, where she stayed for nine days but allegedly did not settle the bill amounting to over €500 (£434).
Following a report from the hotel manager, Ommanney was arrested by the police and appeared before a judge in Palma. She was later released on bail as the investigation continues. Reports suggest that she used a card with insufficient funds to book her hotel stay.
Although details of her court testimony remain undisclosed, Ommanney denied the accusations upon her release. She refuted the allegations, claiming that the bill had been paid in full and attributed any discrepancies to a technical error on the hotel’s part.
Ommanney, known for her appearance on the reality show Real Housewives of DC, made headlines in November 2022 when she disclosed her brief relationship with Prince Harry in 2006. Despite their fling ending shortly after, she described Harry as a gentleman and shared insights into their interactions.
As the investigation unfolds, Ommanney maintains her innocence and plans to seek redress through the legal system. The Playas del Rey Hotel declined to comment on the matter, and court officials are yet to provide updates on the case’s status.
