Several individuals sustained injuries when a truck collided with a crowd of demonstrators protesting against Iran in Los Angeles, leading to chaos and fear among onlookers. The incident, captured on video, showed a U-Haul truck driving into the group of protesters, causing people to scatter in all directions. Witnesses reported that the driver deliberately accelerated towards the protesters carrying Iranian flags, seemingly trying to push through the gathering. The truck displayed a banner stating, “No Shah, No Regime. USA: Don’t Repeat 1953. No Mullah.”
The unsettling occurrence took place in broad daylight on Veteran Avenue in the Westwood district, where a large assembly had gathered to voice opposition against Iran’s Islamic Republic. Eyewitness Susie Shoshana filmed the incident on her phone, describing how she stumbled upon the protest march shortly after leaving a nearby party. The footage captured the truck forcefully maneuvering through the protesters.
Following the collision, the truck came to a halt and was swiftly surrounded by demonstrators. Some individuals were seen breaking the vehicle’s windows as tensions escalated. Subsequent footage depicted law enforcement officers pulling the driver out of the truck while onlookers screamed in the background. As the suspect was being taken into custody, a few protesters attempted to physically engage with him, prompting police intervention to maintain order and disperse the crowd.
The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed that three people were injured as a result of the truck collision with the protesters.
