A tragic incident occurred at a popular tourist site in Thailand when a young man slipped on wet rocks while taking selfies with his girlfriend and fell to his death. The victim, Alexis Vergos, was hiking with his partner in Surat Thani province when the accident happened at Na Muang 2 Waterfall on Koh Samui island.

Upon realizing what had happened, Alexis’ girlfriend immediately contacted emergency services. Despite her distress, she managed to inform the authorities about the incident. Rescuers located Alexis’ body wedged between rocks near the waterfall after a thorough search using climbing equipment.

Police confirmed that the 22-year-old tourist from France had tragically passed away from a head injury sustained during the fall. The district chief of Koh Samui mentioned that additional warning signs in both Thai and English had been placed in the area to prevent such accidents, but unfortunately, this incident occurred despite these measures.

The Na Muang 2 Waterfall, known for its beauty, has also been the site of previous fatal accidents involving tourists. In recent years, several individuals have lost their lives due to falls at the same spot. Authorities are now considering further safety enhancements, such as installing barriers and restricting access to high-risk areas, to prevent future tragedies.

This unfortunate event serves as a reminder of the dangers posed by natural attractions and the importance of heeding safety warnings when visiting such locations.
