Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita dismissed the allegations made by the Congress party regarding Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s wife holding passports from three different nations. Margherita stated that the documents presented by the Congress were false and fabricated.
During a press conference on Sunday, the Congress claimed that Riniki Bhuyan Sharma, the wife of the Assam CM, possessed passports from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Antigua-Barbuda, and Egypt.
Margherita addressed the issue by saying, “The Congress, led by Pawan Khera and state party chief Gaurav Gogoi, presented various documents, including passports, alleging that the CM’s wife held passports from three foreign countries. However, our diplomatic channels and investigations have confirmed that these documents are indeed fake and fabricated.”
The statement was made by Margherita to reporters in Jorhat, emphasizing the inauthenticity of the documents provided by the Congress party.
