Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag has advised young Mumbai batsman Angkrish Raghuvanshi, who plays for Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League, to observe Virat Kohli’s expertise in completing run chases.
During a recent match, KKR faced a challenging target of 227 runs, with Raghuvanshi taking the crease after opener Finn Allen’s early dismissal. The 21-year-old showed promise by scoring a rapid fifty in just 27 balls, steering the chase until his run-out in the 11th over.
Sehwag praised Raghuvanshi’s performance but highlighted the missed opportunity to secure victory for KKR by staying at the crease longer. A miscommunication with Rinku Singh led to Raghuvanshi’s departure, triggering a collapse in KKR’s batting lineup as they fell short of the target.
Following the defeat, KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane defended his strike rate in a fiery post-match press conference, dismissing criticism and attributing it to jealousy. KKR will next face Punjab Kings on April 6 and Lucknow Super Giants on April 9 at the Eden Gardens.
