Vivo unveiled the Vivo Y500 Pro in China last year, featuring a 200-megapixel camera. Now, the company is gearing up to launch its successor, the Vivo Y600 Pro. Official teasers have been released online, showcasing key specifications and design elements. The upcoming smartphone is expected to sport a 50-megapixel primary camera, a decrease from its predecessor, but compensates with a substantial 10,000mAh battery, a notable improvement from the previous model’s 7,000mAh capacity.
In terms of design, Vivo has provided a sneak peek at the back panel of the Vivo Y600 Pro, featuring a circular camera module akin to the previous model. However, unlike its predecessor’s four camera cutouts (including two dummies), the new smartphone will house two camera cutouts, one of them housing the 50-megapixel camera, while details about the second sensor remain undisclosed. An LED flash positioned outside the camera module extends towards the right corner.
The Vivo Y600 Pro is anticipated to come with a 6.67-inch display boasting a 1.5K resolution and a potential refresh rate of up to 120Hz. It is expected to support 90W fast charging. Internally, the device is likely to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 chipset, similar to its forerunner.
Vivo has not yet disclosed the launch date for the Y600 Pro; however, speculations hint at a possible release in China this May. Positioned for the mid-range segment, the smartphone could be priced slightly higher than its predecessor, starting around CNY 1,799 (approximately Rs 24,499). The potential price hike may be influenced by the ongoing global shortage of memory and chipsets. As the exact pricing and launch details are pending official confirmation, the information should be taken with caution.
For comparison, the Vivo Y500 Pro features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1600 nits peak brightness. It runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 chipset and boasts a 200-megapixel primary rear camera with OIS, accompanied by a 32-megapixel front camera. Fueling the device is a generous 7,000mAh battery with 90W fast charging support, ensuring prolonged usage.
