New Zealand’s versatile player, Amelia Kerr, has reached the top spot in the ICC Women’s T20I all-rounder rankings for the first time. Kerr attained a career-high rating of 508, displacing West Indies’ captain, Hayley Matthews, who had been leading since October 2023.
Kerr showcased exceptional performance in the recent series against Zimbabwe, excelling with both bat and ball. She joined an elite group of women cricketers, including Chamari Athapaththu, Meg Lanning, and Matthews, by achieving multiple T20I centuries as a captain. This feat is matched in men’s T20Is only by Rohit Sharma and Babar Azam.
Additionally, Kerr set a new record by becoming the first cricketer, male or female, to achieve 11 consecutive scores of 30 or more in T20Is. Since assuming the role of White Ferns’ captain from Sophie Devine, she has also taken 11 wickets at an average of 22.27.
In the updated ICC Women’s T20I bowling rankings, Kerr ascended three places to secure the 10th position. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Sadia Iqbal remains at the top, closely followed by England’s Sophie Ecclestone, trailing by just 17 points.
In a separate development, Australian batter Georgia Voll has claimed the top spot in the ICC Women’s T20I batting rankings, replacing her compatriot Beth Mooney. Voll’s impressive rise saw her jump eight places after delivering a remarkable performance, including scoring the third-fastest T20I century by an Australian woman in just 52 balls. She was recognized as the Player of the Match in the third T20I against West Indies for her outstanding 101 off 53 deliveries.
Voll, at the age of 22 years and 230 days, became the fourth-youngest woman to achieve a century in both white-ball formats. She emerged as the leading run-scorer of the series, accumulating 148 runs from three matches at an average of 49.33 and a striking rate of 172.09.
Among Indian players, Smriti Mandhana dropped to the third position in the batting rankings, while Jemimah Rodrigues entered the top 10 at No.10. Renuka Singh rose to fifth place and Arundhati Reddy to ninth in the bowling rankings, with Deepti Sharma maintaining the third position among all-rounders.
