Trump Calls Epstein Files Release “Terrible”

Must read

US President Donald Trump criticized the recent release of Jeffrey Epstein files, labeling it as “a terrible thing.” Trump defended Bill Clinton and other individuals featured in the photos, including Michael Jackson, Mick Jagger, and Lord Mandelson. Despite being mentioned in the files, Trump claimed that most celebrities had innocent interactions with Epstein. Epstein, a convicted child sex offender, was known for abusing underage girls.

In response to the release, Trump expressed his disapproval, suggesting that the focus on Epstein was a tactic to divert attention from the Republican Party’s accomplishments. He also spoke positively about Bill Clinton, stating that Clinton could handle any scrutiny regarding his past interactions with Epstein.

According to reports from the Daily Mail, Trump blamed Congressional Democrats for pushing the release of the files. Trump acknowledged Epstein’s extensive connections in the 1990s and 2000s. The data dump occurred following the US Deputy Attorney General’s announcement that more documents related to Epstein would be made public over the following weeks to protect the victims.

The US Department of Justice was required by law to publish all files related to the Epstein investigation by midnight on Friday due to the Epstein Files Transparency Act. Epstein, a convicted sex trafficker, was found dead in his jail cell in Manhattan in August 2019, with his death officially ruled as a suicide. The investigation revealed that the guards assigned to monitor Epstein had fallen asleep and falsified records, while surveillance cameras in the area were either malfunctioning or broken.
