“Ravindra Jadeja Reveals Inspiration Behind Iconic Celebration”

Must read

Ravindra Jadeja shared insights into his widely circulated celebration following Shivam Dube’s dismissal during the IPL 2026 face-off between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals in Guwahati. In the eighth over of the CSK innings, Jadeja claimed Dube’s crucial wicket as he aimed to clear the boundary straight down the ground and was caught by Ravi Bishnoi at long-off.

Post the dismissal, Jadeja showcased his trademark celebration by raising his left hand and mimicking a gun’s firing action, accompanied by a “boom” gesture. Speaking on the celebration, Jadeja mentioned that he had previously used this gesture during his tenure with CSK and decided to continue it upon joining the Royals.

Jadeja also delved into the emotional aspect of transitioning from the Super Kings to the Royals. Having initially joined the Royals in 2008 after India’s Under-19 World Cup triumph in Kuala Lumpur, where he secured an IPL title in his debut season, Jadeja later moved to CSK in 2012, staying with them until 2025. For the 2026 season, Rajasthan acquired him back through a trade deal involving Sanju Samson moving to Chennai.

While acknowledging the emotional challenge of leaving CSK after over a decade, Jadeja viewed it as a significant part of his journey. Returning to Rajasthan held a special place in his heart as it marked the beginning of his IPL career, where he clinched his first title and embraced new challenges.

Jadeja expressed, “Initially, it was tough considering my long association with CSK, but I saw it as a part of my journey. Returning to the team where I secured my first IPL title held sentimental value for me.” The all-rounder highlighted the importance of cherished memories and a positive mindset in adapting to the new environment, expressing his eagerness to learn from and contribute to the Royals’ setup.

In the match against CSK, Jadeja delivered an exceptional performance, taking two crucial wickets of Sarfaraz Khan and Shivam Dube, finishing with figures of 3-0-18-2. His efforts played a pivotal role as Rajasthan Royals restricted Chennai Super Kings to 127 runs, ultimately chasing down the target with 47 balls remaining.

The victory showcased Jadeja’s impact, contributing significantly to the Royals’ success in the IPL 2026 season.
