Hours after a harsh verbal attack by Donald Trump on Iran, where he demanded the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, Tehran retaliated by cautioning that the actions of the US president could lead the country into turmoil and provoke a broader crisis in the Middle East.

Following Trump’s aggressive remarks, Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf, the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, expressed on Twitter that the United States was heading towards chaos due to Trump’s heedless decisions, emphasizing that the region would suffer due to his compliance with Netanyahu’s directives. Ghalibaf warned that pursuing war crimes would yield no benefits.

In response to Trump’s ultimatum to Iran to either comply with reopening the Strait of Hormuz by April 6 or face strikes on power plants and bridges, the Iranian government reacted strongly. Trump, via social media, announced the intended strikes, emphasizing the importance of complying with his demands.

The Iranian Embassy in Thailand responded sarcastically to Trump’s threats, highlighting his use of inappropriate language and likening the situation to a regression to the Stone Age.

Esmail Baghaei, the spokesman for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, condemned Trump’s threats as an instigation of war crimes, illustrating a criminal mindset that equates to crimes against humanity. He emphasized the dangers of targeting critical infrastructure and energy sectors, stating that such actions would endanger the entire population.

Iran’s culture minister, Sayed Reza Salihi-Amiri, dismissed Trump’s threats, labeling him as an unstable and delusional figure. Trump, in an interview with Fox News, reiterated the possibility of drastic action if no agreement is reached, including the destruction of vital assets and seizing control of Iranian oil resources.

Trump mentioned that Iranian negotiators were granted limited amnesty but warned of severe repercussions if negotiations failed, indicating a willingness to resort to extreme measures.
