Vivo has introduced its highly anticipated camera flagship, the Vivo X300 Ultra, in China. This smartphone marks a significant milestone as the first in the world to showcase dual 200-megapixel cameras. These cameras include a primary sensor tailored to enhance light capture and a telephoto lens with gimbal-like stabilization. Alongside the Vivo X300 Ultra, the company also revealed the Vivo X300s. Notably, the Vivo X300 Ultra represents the brand’s inaugural X-series Ultra model set to launch in global markets. Speculations suggest that the device will likely debut in India around May, potentially alongside the Vivo X300 FE.
The Vivo X300 Ultra boasts a 6.82-inch 2K LTPO AMOLED display with a remarkable 144Hz refresh rate. This display supports HDR10+ and incorporates 2160Hz PWM dimming for better brightness control and reduced eye strain. Powering the smartphone is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, coupled with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB UFS 4.1 storage. Running on Android 16 with Origin OS 6, the Vivo X300 Ultra features Ice Pulse Fluid VC cooling technology. This upgraded system offers 14 percent improved heat dissipation overall, aided by a vapor chamber that is now 22 percent larger.
In the realm of photography, the X300 Ultra shines with its cutting-edge camera setup. It houses a 200-megapixel Sony LYTIA 901 primary camera, optimized for enhanced light capture and reduced reflections. This primary camera is complemented by a 200-megapixel Samsung HP0 telephoto camera, providing gimbal-like stabilization for steady zoom shots. Rounding off the camera setup is a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera featuring the Sony LYTIA 818 sensor and optical image stabilization (OIS).
Moreover, Vivo offers two external teleconverter modules for enhanced photography capabilities. The Zeiss G2 Teleconverter extends to a 200mm focal length with approximately 8.7x optical zoom, while the Zeiss G2 Ultra Teleconverter further extends this to 400mm through a sophisticated 15-element optical design.
The Vivo X300 Ultra packs a robust 6600 mAh battery supporting 90W wired charging, 40W wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging functionalities. It also boasts IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. In terms of color options, the smartphone is available in Film Green, Silver Tone, and Black variants.
Starting at 6,999 yuan (around Rs 95,021) for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant, the Vivo X300 Ultra’s top-tier model with 16GB of RAM and 1TB storage, known as the Satellite Edition, is priced at 11,999 yuan (around Rs 1,62,858). The device is currently open for pre-orders in China and will officially go on sale from April 3.
Moving on to the Vivo X300s, this model features a 6.78-inch flat AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of up to 4,500 nits, with a global brightness rating of 2,000 nits. Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, the X300s offers 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and storage options up to 1TB using UFS 4.1. Operating on Android 16 with OriginOS 6, the X300s incorporates a Zeiss-certified camera setup.
The camera setup on the X300s includes a 200-megapixel Samsung HPBr sensor primary camera with optical image stabilization and CIPA 4.5 certification.
