Zookeeper tragically killed by lions in Uzbekistan

Must read

A zookeeper in Uzbekistan tragically lost his life when he was attacked and consumed by three lions he was trying to recapture at a private zoo. The incident, captured on video in 2024, shows the keeper approaching the lions who initially appeared calm before suddenly attacking him.

The keeper, identified as F. Iriskulov, was seen on camera attempting to calm one of the lions named “Simba” as the animals grew agitated. In a horrifying moment, one of the lions bit the man’s arm, causing him to scream in pain before the footage abruptly ended.

When other zoo workers arrived the next morning, they discovered the keeper’s remains in the lion cage while the lions were loose. Two of the lions were tranquilized, but the third had to be put down after killing the zookeeper. The official statement from the zoo confirmed that the lions had killed and partially consumed the man.

This incident is not isolated, as another zookeeper in Thailand was also fatally attacked by lions in front of shocked tourists at Safari World. Witnesses described how the lions pinned down the keeper as he exited his vehicle, with the attack only ceasing when zoo officials intervened with guns.

These tragic events serve as a stark reminder of the dangers faced by those working closely with wild animals in captivity.
