A fresh face has joined the cast of Coronation Street, and fans will likely recognize the actor portraying the new character. In recent episodes, Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) underwent complex surgery to save her baby daughter, who had a neck mass. Shona, along with her husband David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) and other residents including Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) and Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank), were involved in a dramatic car crash in a recent episode.
Although David and Shona survived the accident, complications arose when Shona went into labor prematurely. Due to the unavailability of the expected specialist surgeon, Dr. Vincent Harper from Bristol was called in for the operation. Despite initial concerns, both Shona and the baby came out of the surgery successfully.
Dr. Harper informed them that further surgery would be needed to remove the mass on the baby’s neck. John Hollingworth, the actor playing Dr. Vincent Harper, has a history of television and film appearances, including roles in Poldark, Doc Martin, Call The Midwife, and Transformers: The Last Knight.
