Mirror Sport reached out to Eddie Hearn, Joshua’s promoter, who was on vacation in the Caribbean and had just learned about the incident. Hearn confirmed that Joshua sustained minor injuries and was en route to the hospital, but did not have further details to provide.
According to a local news outlet, Joshua was seated in the back of the vehicle and suffered only minor injuries in the crash. The accident involved a two-car convoy comprising a Pajero SUV and a Lexus SUV, with Joshua accompanied by security personnel in a separate vehicle following behind.
An eyewitness informed a local newspaper that the crash involved a Lexus SUV and a Pajero SUV in a two-vehicle convoy. Joshua was seated behind the driver, accompanied by another individual. Tragically, the passenger next to the driver and the person next to Joshua lost their lives in the accident.
The Times reported that Joshua’s vehicle veered into the truck after a tire blowout, leading to the loss of control. Local authorities are currently investigating the incident.
Eyewitness images show Joshua standing up after the crash, and the BBC has reported that local police confirmed the 36-year-old is in “fine” condition despite sustaining minor injuries.
