New video footage captures the moment President Donald Trump appeared to doze off during a significant policy announcement impacting millions of children. The 79-year-old leader was seen shutting his eyes and possibly even snoring during a recent ceremony in the Oval Office.
During the event, President Trump signed a bill allowing school cafeterias to offer whole and 2% milk, surrounded by lawmakers, dairy farmers, and kids. As officials highlighted the benefits of higher-fat milk, Trump seemed to take a brief nap for about 17 seconds, only opening his eyes when the volume increased.
Despite his sleepy moment, Trump expressed his support for whole milk, emphasizing its benefits for all, regardless of political affiliation. The bill reversed previous restrictions on higher-fat milk options set during the Obama administration.
In addition to whole milk, the new law permits schools to provide nondairy milk meeting nutritional standards and mandates alternative options for students with dietary restrictions. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. hailed the legislation as a necessary correction to school nutrition policies.
These changes will impact around 30 million students enrolled in the National School Lunch Program, offering them a wider variety of milk options. This development follows President Trump’s previous denial of falling asleep during meetings, attributing any perceived moments of rest to simply blinking or resting his eyes.
Questions about Trump’s health have arisen, with reports of him undergoing various tests, including cognitive assessments. Additionally, concerns were raised about his use of makeup to conceal hand bruises, which the White House explained were due to his active schedule and daily aspirin regimen.
