A tragic incident in Colombia resulted in the death of a popular singer, Yeison Jimenez, and five others when the plane they were traveling in crashed and caught fire. The group, including Jimenez and his musicians, was en route to a concert scheduled for the previous night when the light aircraft went down shortly after departing from Paipa Airport in Colombia’s Tundama Province.
Witnesses captured the devastating moment on video as the plane, struggling to gain altitude, reached the end of the airstrip and crashed in flames. The victims of the crash included the pilot, co-pilot, and four passengers, among whom was the 34-year-old musician, Yeison Jimenez, known for his performances worldwide. Just before boarding the ill-fated flight, Jimenez had shared a poignant post on Instagram, reflecting on humility and the uncertainties of life.
Weisman Mora, Jimenez’s photographer, who had shared a video before take-off, also perished in the crash. The plane was en route to Medellin, where Jimenez was scheduled to perform, when the tragic incident occurred around 4 pm local time.
Confirming the fatalities, Colombia’s Civil Aviation Authority stated that all six occupants of the aircraft, including the renowned artist Yeison Jimenez, had lost their lives. Jimenez, a singer-songwriter with a passion for music since childhood, had previously shared his premonitions of dying in an air accident during a podcast interview.
In addition to Jimenez and his photographer, the other victims of the crash were identified as pilot Hernando Torres, Juan Manuel Rodriguez, Oscar Marin, and Jefferson Osorio. The aircraft reportedly belonged to Jimenez’s company, YJ Company SAS.
Following the heartbreaking news, Jimenez’s daughter, Camila, expressed her sorrow on Instagram, while fans took to social media to pay tribute to the talented artist. The music industry and fans mourned the loss of Jimenez, remembering him as a great man, an exceptional artist, and a devoted father.
