A 23-year-old man, Eduardo Mauricio da Silva, who went missing after attending a New Year’s Eve church service in Bertioga, Brazil, was discovered disoriented in a wooded area five days later. Reports indicate that Eduardo asked to be dropped off on the side of a highway before disappearing. His family last heard from him via text message in the early hours of New Year’s Day.
After Eduardo’s father reported him missing, surveillance cameras captured images of him in a wooded area, leading to his eventual discovery. Described as weak, malnourished, and disoriented by his aunt, Eduardo was found in a remote forest by his family and friends who tirelessly searched for him. He is currently receiving medical care in a hospital in Baixada Santista.
In a separate incident on the same day, another man named Roberto Farias Tomaz went missing while hiking in Pico Paraná. After five days of searching, Roberto was found in the Cacatu area of Antonina, having walked 20km through challenging terrain. He survived on limited supplies and was taken to the hospital for evaluation.
