“Act Fast for £100 Supermarket Vouchers from Nottingham City Council”

Must read

Thousands of households have a limited time left to secure £100 in supermarket vouchers. Nottingham City Council is offering these vouchers through the Household Support Fund, but applications must be submitted by midnight. While specific eligibility criteria have not been disclosed, it is anticipated that individuals with low income or receiving benefits will qualify. Interested parties can submit their applications on the Nottingham City Council website. The council aims to notify applicants via email by December 12, with voucher distribution potentially extending until February 28, 2026.

A total of 10,000 vouchers will be randomly allocated to successful households, irrespective of previous receipt of council vouchers since April 2025. Councillor Cheryl Barnard, Executive Member for Children, Young People, and Education at the Council, expressed satisfaction with the additional £1 million earmarked to support Nottingham’s most vulnerable residents during the winter months. The funding aims to alleviate financial strains faced by households amid rising living expenses. The Household Support Fund, part of a £742 million national initiative, enables local councils to aid vulnerable households with essential costs, such as energy bills and food.

For those struggling financially, seeking assistance from their local council is recommended. Various councils, like Wakefield Council, are offering aid, including food vouchers for low-income households. Pensioners receiving Council Tax Support already received a £70 voucher in November, with additional vouchers planned for other eligible households. Families on Council Tax Support will receive £50 vouchers starting December 15, while other qualifying households will get £70 vouchers from December 3 to December 12.

Blackpool Council is distributing energy assistance, with eligible households of one or two individuals, including children, receiving £200, and households of three or more individuals getting £300. To qualify for support, applicants must demonstrate financial hardship and challenges in bill payment, providing recent bank statements for all household members.
