“Six Flags Qiddiya Unveils World’s Tallest Roller Coaster”

Must read

The recently opened Six Flags resort in Qiddiya City has unveiled Falcons Flight, the world’s tallest roller coaster. This steel behemoth surpasses the height of Big Ben, reaching 195m at its peak drop, and can reach speeds of up to 155mph. The resort, part of the Qiddiya City development in Saudi Arabia’s Riddiyah province, is expected to attract around 17 million visitors annually.

In addition to Falcons Flight, the resort features other record-breaking attractions, including the Sirocco Tower, the world’s tallest freestanding shot tower at 145m, and the Gyrospin, the tallest pendulum ride with a 53m swing. The Iron Rattler, standing at 63.4m, holds the title of the tallest tilt coaster, while the Spitfire roller coaster, soaring to 73m, is now the world’s tallest inverted triple-launch roller coaster.

Construction on Falcons Flight began in April 2023, with the final component installed in December 2024. Shawn Sanbrooke, a popular YouTube creator from the Themepark Worldwide channel, described his experience on the roller coaster as “absolutely incredible” and a “phenomenal” ride. He highlighted the thrill of riding the colossal coaster during the day and praised the surrounding mountainous landscape.

The Six Flags resort also houses a custom-built Formula One track, a Dragon Ball theme park, and a water park. The soft opening of Falcons Flight not only claimed the titles of the world’s tallest, fastest, and longest roller coaster but also marked a significant day for adventure enthusiasts.
